Bulgarian Pharmaceutical Union (BPU) demanded the resignation of Health Minister Radoslav Gaidarski, because of the new regulation on the control and registration of prices of medicinal products, BPU head Miroslav Nenchev said at a news conference on December 3 2007.
The new regulation was not co-ordinated with BPU representatives, he said as quoted by Focus new agency.
Gaidarski’s statement that the BPU agreed on the regulations were another "trick" to “mislead society as well as the entire Council of Ministers,” Nenchev said.
“The regulation was prepared and approved in complete non- transparency,” Nenchev said.
BFU demanded to receive the full text of the regulation. The union sent an open letter to President Georgi Purvanov, Prime Minister Sergei Stanishev and Parliament spokesperson Georgi Pirinski.
Gabriela Vuteva, BFU secretary general, said that a number of drugstores in smaller settlements would be closed because of the new regulation.
BFU would appeal the regulation in court, once it would come into force.
