From July 10 to September 18 projects for developing the Bulgarian-Greek border region can apply for PHARE financing through the Regional Development Ministry.
The projects would receive over 2.4 million euro, Focus news agency reported.
Applicant projects should focus on finding better ways to use the natural resources in the region to guarantee economic development. According to requirements, the estimated cost of the projects should be from 50 000 euro to 200 000 euro. PHARE would cover all expenses.
PHARE would allocate the funds only to NGOs, municipalities or consortia. The applicants should have a partner organisation in Greece.
Programme priorities include development of environmentally protected areas, buffer zones and protection of endangered species. PHARE would also search for projects boosting eco tourism in the region.
