16:00 Tue 05 Jun 2007

The doctor of the national football team said that forward Martin Petrov was able to take part in the match against Belarus on June 6.

Coach Stanimir Stoilov said that he would take a decision concerning Petrov’s participation in the latest possible moment.

Petrov is recovering from knee injury that prevented him from taking part in team practice. Media reported that he was likely to miss the Euro 2008 qualification against Belarus.

“Martin will probably take part in the match but the time he will remain on the field depends on the result,” Stoilov said. In case Bulgaria took an early lead, the forward will be replaced by another footballer, he said.

Focus Sport agency reported that Petrov was already practicing alongside his teammates.

Petrov was injured during the previous match against Belarus that took place on June 2.
