Police in Peru arrested a 38-years-old Bulgarian citizen at the international airport of Jorge Chávez with 12.97kg cocaine.

Bulgarian Vladimir Dimitrov Konstantinov was to fly to Spain through Amsterdam, police said as quoted by EFE news agency.

Konstantinov was arrested after sniffer dogs rushed to his luggage. When police officers opened his suitcases, they found the drugs divided in 13 packages, hidden between clothes.

According to the police, the Bulgarian arrived in Lima 10 days before his arrest.

Konstantinov said that he would receive $7000 (4743 euro) if he would deliver the drug in Madrid.
