The earthquake that occurred on February 21 led to damages in the ancient city of Perpericon. Culture Minister Stefan Danailov requested the creation of a special commission for the evaluation of the damages.
According to preliminary estimations at least 18 000 leva will be needed for restoration works, Focus news agency reported.
A cliff fell on one of the platforms of the ancient city. Crack appeared along the rock walls in the southern part of the archaeological complex. Several ancient walls were partially torn down.
Some of the preventive measures that need to be undertaken include strengthening of the constructions and providing safety nets. In this way, even if rocks slide down, they would not produce damages.
Additional funds would be needed for preventing further damages. Security equipment would cost nearly 92 000 leva.
