The concert of Spanish guitarist Pepe Romero will be held in Hall 1 of the National Palace of Culture because of the greater-than-expected interest.

The event will take place at 7.30 pm on December 5 2007. It is part of the series of concerts Koncertmaistorite.

Romero will play with the Classic FM orchestra. They will perform music from Spanish composers, including Joaquin Rodrigo and Manuel de Falla, as well as from Mikhail Glinka.

Romero is one of the most prominent Spanish guitarists, famous for his interpretations and perfect technique. He inspired various composers, among them Joaquin Rodrigo, Federico Moreno Torroba, Lorenzo Palomo and his own father Celedonio Romero, to compose music especially for him.

Spanish king Juan Carlos I awarded Romero the Isabel la Catolica order. Romero received Premio Andalucia de Música, Spain’s highest honour for contributions to the art.

Romero has recorded over 50 solo albums and 30 albums as part of the famed guitar quartet The Romeros.
