PENSIONERS IN BULGARIA’S SOFIA AND PLOVDIV THREATEN TO BOYCOTT MEP ELECTIONS

Pensioners in Sofia and Plovdiv started protesting on March 29.

The protesters threatened to boycott the upcoming members of European Parliament (MEP) elections.

Starving People and Poor Pensioners Don’t Go to Elections are some of the slogans that the pensioners used to protest.

Several hundred pensioners protested in Plovdiv’s central square. Pensioners call for higher pensions.

In order to have European elections, Bulgaria needs to provide European pensions, protesters said.
