Famous French director Patrice Leconte arrived in Bulgaria on November 5 2007 to take part in the Cinemania 2007 film festival.
Leconte gave a news conference and presented to the Bulgarian audience his new film Mon meilleur ami (My Best Friend). The film is nominated for the David di Donatello Awards for best European film. Daniel Auteuil stars in the lead role in the film.
In My Best Friend, a business partner challenges Auteuil’s character, a middle-aged antique dealer Francois, to present his best friend in return for a Greek vase. Francois is to find out that none of his acquaintances actually likes him.
On November 6 2007, Leconte would hold a master class with students of the National Academy of Theatre and Film Arts (NATFIZ), Bulgarian news agency BTA reported.
Leconte directed world famous hits films such as La Veuve de Saint-Pierre (The Widow of Saint-Pierre), La fille sur le pont (The Girl on the Bridge) and Le mari de la coiffeuse (The Hairdresser's Husband).
It is Leconte’s second visit to Bulgaria. He was in the country in 2003 to record the music of his film Dogora in studios of Bulgarian National Radio.
