Participation in Bulgaria’s elections for members of the European parliament (MEPs) is a matter of social responsibility, MEP candidate Zhasmina Mircheva from European socialists platform coalition said.
The coalition was formed between the Movement for Social Humanism and the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP).
By voting for members of EP, Bulgarians have the chance to decide for the first time after the EU accession the future of the country, Mircheva said.
As a small country Bulgaria will be largely influenced by European Union (EU) policies and EU-related engagements, Mircheva said as quoted by Bulgarian news agency BTA.
The presence of socially responsible representatives in the EP will guarantee the lobby related to EU policies for smaller regions and countries, Mircheva said.
