Sofiagas EAD, the subsidiary of Bulgaria's gas distribution company Overgas Inc., announced plans to build a 5.5 km gas mains to the new headquarters of the National Revenue Agency (NRA), the company said in a statement circulated by BTA news agency.

NRA is set to move to the building on Tsarigradsko Chaussee in Sofia, which until recently housed Rodina printing house, once renovation works are completed. The project is due to set out in October 2008.

NRA is estimated to have one million cu m of gas in annual consumption. Using gas as the source of heating instead of diesel fuel will bring 1.2 million leva in savings for the NRA.

The regional units of Overgas Inc. have to date installed gas installations in five directorates of the NRA, namely in Varna, Kiustendil, Razgrad, Stara Zagora and Yambol.

Next year, the Overgas will link the NRA units in Bourgas and Bankia to its network.
