Over-construction in Bulgarian coastal resorts was the main topic of discussion between Bulgarian tourism agencies and their international partners during the international tourism expo ITB Berlin, SAT head Aneliya Kroushkova said.
All experts familiar with the tourism product of Bulgaria said that intense construction was among the reasons for problems in Bulgaria’s tourism sector, mediapool.bg reported.
Bulgarian resorts exhausted all opportunities for construction and their future depended on the means that owners would invest in renovation, mediapool.bg said. The newly-built hotels will fade in the five to six years to come.
Turkish media reported that Russian, German and UK property investors abandoned their interest in holiday property in Bulgaria and were interested in the Turkish Black Sea Cost.
Still, Kroushkova said that all ITB participants she met expected an increase in the number of tourists to visit Bulgaria in the summer of 2007.
