Members of opposition parties in Bulgaria tabled in Parliament a no-confidence motion. The no-confidence vote will target the ruling coalition due to a number of policy failures.
Representatives of Democrats for Strong Bulgaria (DSB), United Democratic Forces (UtDF), Bulgaria People’s Union (BPU) and ultra-nationalist movement Ataka filed the motion.
The no-confidence vote mainly resulted from the Cabinet’s healthcare policies, Focus news agency reported.
Opposition said that the Bulgarian health system faced deep crisis and nearly 92 per cent of the Bulgarians were dissatisfied with it.
BPU representative Borislav Kitov said that the no-confidence motion can only bring up a deeper discussion on the problems.
Expectations that the motion will bring about stunning effects are naïve UtDF member Hristo Kirchev said.
The role of the opposition is to point out the weaknesses of the ruling parties, Kirchev said. Hopefully the ruling coalition will do something to correct its policies after the vote, as splits within it already became evident, Kirchev said.
