On April 16 President Georgi Purvanov presented the officials that will work in his team during his second term in office.

Representatives of the ruling parties and of the right-wing opposition reacted differently to Purvanov’s selection.

According to the Union of Democratic Forces (UDF) Purvanov cannot become stronger during his second term in office, as his potential was already depleted. His attitude and strategies remain unchanged, as well.

Purvanov failed coming up with new policies for his second term, Democrats for Strong Bulgaria (DSB) said. His attitude is pro-European, pro-Russian but fails being pro-Bulgarian, DSB representative Neno Dimov said as quoted by Focus news agency.

The ruling Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) said that Purvanov achieved many successes during his first term in office and should maintain the same line of policies.

BSP representative Angel Naidenov said that Purvanov achieved dialogue and balance between institutions. Purvanov got actively involved in Bulgaria’s political and social life, he said.

Sociologists commented that Purvanov will fail surprising people with completely new behaviour during his second term in office. Purvanov is predictable and as a result is highly trusted, political scientists said.
