Round table discussion on the closure of Kozloduy nuclear power plant (NPP) units three and four will take place in the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS) on February 2.
The meeting has been organised by the mayors of Sofia and Kozloduy, Boiko Borissov and Milko Torbov under the aegis of President Georgi Purvanov, Darik Radio reported.
BAS chairman Ivan Yuhnovski and the lawyer of the citizens' committee for NPP Kozloduy protection Atanas Semov will also participate in the discussion.
The programme will include speeches of European Parliament (EP) representatives and the International Atomic Energy Agency.
Energy Minister Rumen Ovcharov was also invited.
Two NPP units were closed on December 31 2006 as part of Bulgaria's EU accession requirements.
In a speech made on February 1, Purvanov told members of the EP that a committee needed to re-examine the reactors and to find out their use in the future was safe.
