A centre for non-emergency calls will probably be opened in Sofia.
Sofia municipal council would take a decision on the idea September 25 2007, Focus news agency reported.
Under the proposal, citizens would call special number 311 in case of damages, failures, street holes and other problems.
In a later stage of the project, an operative hall for crisis management would be created which would co-operate with the emergency centre.
The new centre aims to ease the work load of emergency line 112.
Centres for non-emergency calls have been created in the US in New York and Washington after September 11 2001 and have no analogue in Bulgaria or in Europe, Focus said.
The foundation of the non-emergency centre would be offered as public procurement worth nearly 550 000 leva.
