Bulgarian Cabinet approved a draft-agreement with Romania defining the clauses of labour contracts under which Bulgarian and Romanian employees will work on the construction of Danube bridge II.
Bulgarian and Romanian workers do not need to apply for work permits to work on the bridge construction, the Cabinet said as quoted by Focus news agency.
Ministers also discussed social securities, health and safety work conditions related to the bridge construction.
Construction works will take place on the territory of both countries and that is why labour contracts will be signed depending on the employers’ registration address.
The agreement between Bulgaria and Romania to free workers from work permits will ease the construction of the bridge. It will save administrative costs and time.
Danube Bridge II would cost 236 million euro. Fthe EU PHARE and ISPA programmes, the European Investment Bank and other international financial institutions fund the construction. Bulgaria would also provide financial resources from the state budget.
