No skinheads were involved in the on-going disruptions in Sofia's residential complex of Krasna Polyana.

The 24-hour police surveillance showed that the Roma people in the complex had violated the public peace, Interior Ministry said as quoted by Bulgarian news agency BTA.

Late on August 13, a mass fight occurred in the residential complex of Krasna Polyana allegedly involving skin heads.

According to Evroroma party head Tsvetelin Kunchev, the controversy erupted when 30 skin heads beat three Roma people.

The conflict grew when Roma people allegedly called out support and nearly 200 people joined the fight.

Interior Minister ordered the use of Bulgarian gendarmery to deal with the problem.
There is an increased police presence in the residential complex of Zaharna Fabrika. Conflicts were expected to appear in the complex where there are Roma ghettos. Roma ghettos should be removed according to Etien Iovev, who participated in the initiative committee in Zaharna fabrika. In 2005 an organised group of Roma people attacked Bulgarian population living in Zaharna Fabrika.

Iovev said that when Roma people stop receiving social payments they will be forced to work. This will be the only way to integrate them in the society.

Parliament member of Roma origin Toma Tomov said that conflicts resulted from the wide-spread xenophobic moods among Bulgarian society. He said that Roma people were the most peace-loving nation in the world. There were Roma people beaten by Bulgarians in Krasna Polyana but the media refrain from commenting the issue, Tomov said.
