The official opening of the 2008 summer season, which was to be held in SS Konstantin and Elena resort on May 9, was postponed, most probably because of the summit of the ruling coalition in Bansko on May 10 and 11.
Petra Dimitrova, marketing manager of St St Constantine and Helena Holding, the company that manages the resort, told The Sofia Echo that the ceremony was postponed so that Prime Minister Sergei Stanishev could attend.
It is actually the Government that organises the event, which the resort is only hosting, Dimitrova said. "So they just told us that the opening would be postponed," she said.
The opening will be held on May 21, which coincides with the day of the saints, patrons of the resort, SS Konstantin and Elena. The resort was selected because of its 100th anniversary.
