NO CLARITY ON LATEST PUBLIC MURDER IN BULGARIA’S CAPITAL

Police still lack detailed information on the murder of Lokomotiv Plovdiv football club president Alexander Tasev.

Tasev was shot dead on the morning of May 14 in Sofia’s Boyana residential district.

No witnesses have been identified and questioned yet.

After the initial inspection of the crime scene, police said that Tasev was shot dead at about 10.30am.

Tasev’s body was already taken out of his car. Inspection of the vehicle and the crime scene lasted nearly four hours.

According to media reports Tasev is the major purchaser and exporter of cherries in Bulgaria. The production of his company is exported to Greece and Italy.

Tasev also own shares in various companies and factories, deals with oil and fuel production and has various other business interests. He features among the richest entrepreneurs in Southeastern Europe.

In 1997 Tasev tried to get involved with politics but failed becoming member of Parliament.

Tasev became Lokomotiv Plovdiv president in 2006.
