Member of the ruling coalition National Movement Simeon II (NMSII) is concerned about problems in the Bulgarian healthcare sector. To deal with negative developments the NMSII proposes discussion with NGOs, as well as with healthcare institution representatives.
NNMSII representatives met the head of the Bulgarian Medical Association Andrei Kehaiov, Focus news agency reported.
Financial problems hospitals experience worry medics in Bulgaria, Kehaiov said. If such developments affect doctors negatively they will likely have a bad effect on patients, as well, said he.
The lack of funds for proper medical salaries affects the quality of healthcare services offered. New sources of funding should be found since the currently allocated resources are insufficient, Kehaiov said.
Healthcare problems also vary according to region, NMSII representatives said.
A public debate is needed before finding the solution becomes possible. The state of healthcare in Bulgaria affects equally those employed in the sector and the people using its services, NMSII representatives said.
