The newly elected Chairman of Bulgaria's Supreme Court of Cassation, Lazar Grouev, took office on November 21, Bulgarian National Radio (BNR) reported.
This happened behind closed doors, in the presence of the judges of the Supreme Court of Cassation.
Journalists were allowd to enter the room only after Grouev was sworn in.
Grouev said “we should speak less and work more”.
“I was appointed as administrative chief, not as your superior”, Grouev told the judges and said the only superiors to a judge were the Constitution, the law and conscience, BNR reported.
