Subsidy for milk production would start on March 1 2008, the Bulgarian State Agriculture Fund decided, a Council of Ministers media statement said.
The financial aid would be to the amount of 0.20 leva per litre of cow and goat milk and 0.25 leva per litre of buffalo and sheep milk. The subsidy would be paid until the allocated money would have finished, the media statement said.
Dairy producers would have the chance to apply every month, instead of every two months as it has been so far. A financial aid limit of 18 litres daily milk-yield per cow was set.
The maximum amount of money that every registered agricultural producer could receive for a single year under all short-term financial lines of the State Agriculture Fund was 150 000 leva, the media statement said.
