A new healthcare system will be created in Bulgaria’s resorts, following European models, Health Minister Radoslav Gaidarski said.
The new system is needed to guarantee the right of foreign visitors, coming from European countries, to receive the same medical aid that they got at home, Gaidarski said as quoted by Focus news agency.
Gaidarski said that such regulations were already drafted.
On March 27 representatives of the hospitality sector said that Gaidarski’s proposal for the setting up of medical centres in each hotel was unacceptable.
According to sector representatives the Health Ministry was trying to transfer one of the state’s duties to private businesses.
Gaidarski and hotel owners will meet on March 29 to discuss the new regulations.
