NEARLY 3000 POLICEMEN IN BULGARIA TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR BUSH’S SECURITY
13:24 Tue 05 Jun 2007

On June 11 Sofia will look like any welcoming European city for the visit of US president George W. Bush, Novinar daily reported.

The city will deal with its typical problems like beggars, horse carts and homeless people, the report said.

Policemen in the capital were going to make sure Sofia had the appropriate look for the visit.

Bush will arrive in Bulgaria on June 10 together with his wife. He will travel after his visit to Albania ends.

Sofia municipality said that it was still unclear which streets in Sofia would be closed to ensure the security of the US president. Public transportation is to travel on schedule but to skip some of the central stops.

A parking ban will be enforced in the central part of the city.

Apart from the Sofia policemen, 1000 officers from other cities will travel to the capital for the visit. The total number of policemen responsible for Bush’s security will reach 3000.

Hmm, a clean up for Bush's visit. Interesting that the report says it will deal with the usual problems like beggars, horse carts and homeless people, I wonder how the government propses to do that? May I suggest that the government actaully tries to tackle the issues that cause people to be homeless instead. I also wonder how much money the government is spending on Bush's visit, that money would be better spent on tackling social issues. I couldn't care less about Bush, he is war mongering tyrant, you really want to welcome him to your beautiful Bulgaria? Beware, he's after something!
