Nearly 10 000 people will work on the construction of Bulgaria’s second nuclear power plant (NPP) Belene.
Once the power plant started working, it would offer nearly 5 000 permanent work places, Bulgarian National Radio reported.
Highly qualified experts mainly would be employed, Pleven regional governor Tsvetko Tsvetkov said.
Belene was a major project, not only considering the construction of the power plant itself, said Tsvetkov. It also involved infrastructure and social construction in the region upon the completion of the project.
Pleven region was also dealing with several other major projects, Tsvetkov said. Among these was the ferry complex Nikopol -Turnu Magurele.
The ferry complex was nearly 40 per cent completed. Additional 23 million leva would be invested in the renovation of the road leading to the ferry complex, Tsvetkov said.
