After a "steamrollingly" successful 2007 tour in Australia and New Zealand, 1990s hip-hop trio Naughty by Nature is again setting off from their native United States, this time bringing the sound to Bulgaria. The concert is on March 2 starting at 8pm at Sofia's Zala Universiada.
During their performance, Naughty by Nature is to perform the hits that brought them to fame, starting back in 1991 when they were still New Jersey homeboys, including tunes such as O.P.P., Feels Good, Hip-Hop Hooray, Uptown Anthem, Everything's Gonna Be Alright and Wickedest Man Alive.
According to their website, Naughty by Nature "pulled off the neat trick of landing big, instantly catchy anthems on the pop charts while maintaining their street-level credibility among the hardcore rap faithful", making the group one of the first to successfully perform such a balancing act.
They won a Grammy award in 1995 for best rap album with Poverty's Paradise. Since their inception, the group has released six albums, most recent of which is IIcons (2002).
MC Treach (born Anthony Criss), Vinnie, aka Vin Rock (born Vincent Brown), and DJ Kay Gee (born Keir Gist) are to arrive at Sofia Airport on March 2, from where, in true genre style, they will be chauffeured to their luxury hotel in the city centre in luxury 4x4 vehicles. On the other hand, they did not, according to a press release issued by the PR agency Andante, put forth any rigorous demands of services or products. They come at the invitation of Wonder Music and radio and television The Voice.
For those under the age of 16 who wish to attend the concert, only one ticket is required for both guests if the minor is accompanied by a person of adult age. Tickets are available from www.eventim.bg and Germanos stores around the country.
