On October 4 2007, the World Day for Animal Protection, Sofia cinema Odeon (1 Patriarh Evtimii Boulevard) at 6.40pm will show the film “Bulgaria in Natura 2000 – learn now, learn more”.
The film is created on a project of Wildlife Society Balkani (balkani.org) and Svidas producers house, and has been financed by the Embassy of the Netherlands in Bulgaria. The film gives information about the environmental network of protected areas Natura 2000: what is it, what are advantages and restrictions, how the local people can benefit if their lands are included in the protected zones. The creators of the documentary define it as one step forward towards improving people’s attitude towards Natura 2000.
Within the same project a series of small clips about the different protected areas throughout the whole country are to be created.
The film’s screening is part of the celebration of the World Day for Animal Protection, which annually is marked with free of charge projections in Sofia’ Odeon cinema.
