MUNICIPALITY ELECTIONS IN BULGARIA TO COST MORE THAN 18.5 MILLION LEVA-MINISTER
11:41 Wed 29 Aug 2007

Transparent ballot-boxes will be used at the municipality elections, State Administration Minister Nikolay Vassilev said.

The same ballot-boxes were used in the presidential elections in October 2006, and the elections for European Parliament members in May 2007, he said as quoted by Bulgarian National Radio.

The State Administration Ministry has made an expert evaluation of the funds needed for the elections. It said that 18.5 million euro will have to be allocated for the elections.

Vassilev said that the exact sum would depend on the second election rounds, which could take place in some towns.

A second round in a small town would not influence the total sum, but a second election round in Sofia would cost the same amount as the first round, Vassilev said.
