Some of the most outstanding collections of the Sofia History Museum will be displayed in a multimedia disc catalog.

Sofia: a Long History will have both an English and a Bulgarian versions and will be distributed as a gift by Sofia municipality and municipal institutions. The product would be available online as well, Bulgarian news agency BTA reported.

The history museum has in its collection more than 120 000 items. Only few of them need to undergo restoration.

A wide range of items are included in 25 collections. Among these items are coins, weapons, ceramic vessels and furniture from different time periods.

Collections have been divided thematically, BTA reported. Some of these include items from the wedding of Prince Ferdinand and Princess Marie-Kouse in 1893 and items from Bulgaria's medieval past.

Sofia History Museum has in its collection paintings, icons, murals and photos as well.
