The Movement for Rights and Freedom (MRF) wanted clear rules and voting rights for every Bulgarian citizen, MRF deputy chairperson Rosen Vladimirov said.
The MRF, one of the parties in Bulgaria’s tripartite coalition Cabinet set up in 2005, is led and supported mainly by Bulgarians of ethnic Turkish descent.
Vladimirov’s statement was a reference to the Local Government Act, according to Bulgarian National Radio (BNR).
Vladimirov said that the main goal of the MRF central council session on July 20 2007 was to launch its pre-election campaign. Bulgaria is to hold municipal elections in the autumn.
MRF was a democratic formation and could negotiate with various parties about the formation of coalitions, Vladimirov said.
The only parties he excluded were ultra-nationalist movement Ataka and Sofia mayor Boiko Borissov’s Citizens for the European Development of Bulgaria (CEDB).
