Members of Parliament once again ended in quarrel talks over the draft Members of European Parliament (MEP) elections law.
One of the parties in the ruling tripartite coalition, National Movement Simeon II (NMSII), supported opposition parties in their demands. According to the opposition only Bulgarian citizens who have been living in an EU member country for at least three months prior the elections will have the right to vote.
The suggestion received 111 votes in favour and 55 votes against, Focus news agency reported.
As a protest, members of another party in the ruling coalition, Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF), left the plenary hall.
Previous talks and voting of the draft law ended in similar manner. On February 8 opposition parties left plenary hall in disagreement with the suggestions of the ruling coalition.
MEP elections are scheduled to take place in mid-May. Currently Bulgaria's former EP observers act an MEPs.
