16:23 Tue 28 Aug 2007

Nearly 150 MPs in the Parliament that created current Bulgarian constitution and elected the first Cabinets after the communist regime collapse contributed to former State Security services.

The total number of the MPs in the Parliament was 400.

Dossier opening committee representative Valeri Katsunov said that the review of Parliament's staff was almost finished. So far, nearly 1 300 people working in the Parliament have been examined, Focus news agency reported.

Leaders of political parties and former ministers feature among people who have worked for communist-era secret services.

The dossier opening committee will publish the final results from MPs’ check in the Internet on September 3 or 4 2007.

The committee was formed to open the archives of former state security service. It already checked the past of Bulgarian members of the European Parliament and the Presidency staff.
