Bulgarian customs officers at the Kalotina border crossing, between Bulgaria and Serbia, seized 4.212 kg of heroin during a customs check of the international train Sofia-Belgrade-Ljubljana (Slovenia).
The heroin was estimated to be worth more than 700 000 leva, Customs Agency press centre said.
The drugs were hidden in hollow spaces in one of the compartments of one of the trains.
The quantity was divided in two packages, wrapped in woollen tights.
Investigation against an unknown perpetrator was launched.
