More than 300 participants joined the 24th edition of the Vacation and Spa tourism expo in the capital of Sofia.
The expo was opened on February 22 in the National Palace of Culture, giving representatives of more than 15 countries seek partnership with Bulgarian tourism companies.
Head of the State Agency for Tourism (SAT) Anelia Kroushkova said that such exhibitions were essential for the development of Bulgarian tourism.
Kroushkova said as quoted by Focus news agency that the positive tendencies Bulgaria’s tourism observed in 2006 will be maintained in 2007. More than five million tourists visited Bulgaria in 2006 and the revenue exceeded two billion leva.
Participants in the Vacation and Spa expo include companies, tourism agencies, organisations ad municipalities.
The expo present specialised spa centres, complexes and resorts.
Various international companies are taking part as well. Among them are participants from Greece, Turkey, Cyprus, Italy, Spain, Germany, Austria, Tunis, Thailand and Egypt.
