Two packages containing cocaine washed up on the Black Sea shore close to Kranevo, Dobrich regional prosecutor Georgi Kolarov said.
People found the packages on September 14 but the issue was not popularised until present, Focus news agency reported.
Each package contained at least one kg of the drug. On September 13 packages containing 24.5 kg of cocaine washed up on the shore at Golden Sands resort.
Investigators said that the two occurrences were probably related. Inspection of the evidence for the two cases would be combined, Focus reported.
Analysis of the packages found previously showed they contained cocaine of 81 per cent purity. The price of one gr of the drug was 280 leva.
Interior Minister Roumen Petkov told a press conference that the cocaine was probably transported on a vessel passing close to the Bulgarian shore. The packages found cost nearly 8.5 million leva, Petkov said.
