BULGARIA'S leading GSM operator MobilTel has chosen the US Tumbleweed Communications Corporation to provide it with its MailGate E-mail Firewall to filter and secure email traffic.

This was announced on August 25 by Craig Brennan, board chairman and CEO of Tumbleweed during a visit to Sofia.

The software should protect the company network from spam, viruses, phishing attacks – in which emails claiming to be from established companies trick people into surrendering valuable personal information – and e-mail fraud.

Tumbleweed provides security software and appliances for e-mail protection, file transfers, and identity validation that allow organisations to safely conduct business over the Internet. Tumbleweed offers these solutions in three comprehensive product suites: MailGate, SecureTransport, and Validation Authority.

MailGate in particular provides protection against spam, viruses, and attacks, and enables policy-based message filtering, encryption, and routing.

MobilTel will deploy MailGate with Dynamic Anti-spam Service (DAS) to block incoming email traffic against threats, and encrypt outgoing traffic to ensure privacy and security.

“I am pleased that MobilTel has chosen Tumbleweed to secure and protect their email network,” said Eric Dumas, vice president and country manager of Tumbleweed for Bulgaria. “Using MailGate E-mail Firewall to block unwanted traffic and secure outbound messages will ensure that MobilTel’s email system will continue to be secure, efficient and reliable,” he said.

That should be organizations not organisations. This looks bad when an article is not even spell checked before going to press.

The Sofia Echo follows British spelling standards. According to these words such as privatization, organization, modernization, etc (spelled with z for US english) become privatisation, organisation and modernisation.
