Bulgaria's European Integration Minister Meglena Kouneva and British minister of state for Europe Geoff Hoon discussed the issue of Bulgarian workers' access to the UK labour market.

Kouneva called for equal treatment of Bulgarian workers, Focus news agency reported.

Hoon said that he would present Bulgaria's position during the debate on the Bulgarian and Romanian migrant workers problem in the UK parliament.

The debate would take place on October 24 2006 but the British cabinet would decide on its position later during the year.

Kouneva also informed Hoon of Bulgaria's political will to continue reforms and to carry out all EU engagements assumed, Focus said.
