Talks between Bulgaria and the US concerning the positioning of foreign troops in Bulgarian military bases will be postponed, Xinhua news agency reported.
Few issues need to be clarified but they are the most important, Bulgarian Foreign Minister Ivailo Kalfin said. Specific decisions have to be taken before the next US delegation arrives in Bulgaria, said he.
The new round of negotiations was scheduled for Wednesday, the agency reports.
The status of the US soldiers in Bulgaria has not been decided yet. Bulgaria and the US also need to discuss the provision of investment for military infrastructure, said Kalfin.
Bulgaria's agreement would be different from the one signed between Romania and the US, Kalfin said. Bucharest permitted the launching of attacks on other countries from the Romanian bases.
An agreement for the positioning of troops in two Bulgarian bases has been achieved. Local media released information about negotiations over the usage of a third base, the Graf Ignatievo airport, Xinhua reported.
