A mild earth tremor, with a magnitude of 3.2 on the Richter scale, was felt shortly after 3pm in Sofia on July 3, the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS) institute of seismology said, as quoted by Dnevnik daily.
The epicentre of the tremor was within 15km of Sofia centre.
The tremor comes on the same day that a series of blasts at warehouses storing expired ammunition on the outskirts of Sofia shook the city. There is no relationship between the two events, Vassil Konstantinov from the BAS geophysical institute told Focus news agency.
Minor explosions are still heard from the warehouses, but the bulk of the blasts, which started around 6.30am, appear to be over. The warehouses were used to store close to 1500 tons of amunition, the Defence Ministry said.
The full extent of the damages from the blasts is yet unknown, but no people appear to have been injured by the explosions.
