Carlo Ancelotti, manager of the Italian football club Milan, arrived in Bulgaria on November 12 2007 at the invitation of State Agency for Youth and Sports (SAYS) deputy chair Vesselin Margaritov.
Botev Plovdiv FC president Dimitar Hristolov was among those greeting Ancelotti at the airport.
Ancelotti’s official visit would begin at 5pm at Plovdiv University Paisii Hilendarski. He would be awarded the title doctor honoris causa of the university, Focus news agency reported.
It was a great honour for me to receive this award, Ancelotti said. He thanked the Plovdiv University executive body and said that he was happy to be in Bulgaria.
On November 13 2007, Ancelotti would visit Maria Luisa children's social care home in Plovdiv.
