Elections for members of the European Parliament (MEPs) were more than just an “exercise who should go to Strasbourg,” leader of rightist Union of Democratic Forces (UDF) Petar Stoyanov said.
These elections could re-arrange Bulgaria’s political arrangement, he told private channel bTV.
The ruling coalition is UDF’s main opponent. Currently the party is helpless to counteract the government, but in co-operation with other opposition parties it could unite social discontent, Focus news agency quoted Stoyanov as saying.
Bulgarians were displeased with the Cabined because of the problems in healthcare, energy and social policy, Stoyanov said.
Stoyanov said that the duty of the opposition was to express the opinion of the society. Hence a vote of no-confidence was never useless, he said, commenting on the no-confidence motion tabled in the Parliament on February 22 2007.
