The four men detained on March 27 for organising a women trafficking scheme forced more than 10 women into prostitution abroad.
Bulgarian and French investigators worked together to uncover the scheme. The men sent women to France and Spain. Most of the women come from southeastern Bulgaria, Interior Ministry said.
After the investigation ended, European authorities issued an order for the detention of the four organisers of the scheme.
The men were also charged with the illegal possession of weapons, Focus news agency reported. During a search police found nearly 40 000 euro, $3000, weapons and evidence connecting the men to the trafficking scheme.
Investigation on the case is ongoing, Interior Ministry said.
