10:23 Mon 28 May 2007

On May 28, medics from Pirogov emergency institute will once again protest.

Bulgarian Medical Union (BMU) representative Valentin Kurlev said that the medics will hold an hour-long protest starting 1pm.

Such protests were launched on May 18. Medics want higher wages, better equipment and working conditions.

Medics from all Pirogov divisions will join the demonstration.

During the past week, protesting Pirogov employees said that in case no response was received until June 1, a strike would be launched.

Kurlev said that BMU representatives and Pirogov managers were meeting to discuss the issue but no specific measures have been proposed yet.
