The number of protesting medics from Sofia’s Pirogov emergency institute reached more than 200 people on the morning of June 1.
Medics have been protesting in demand of higher wages and better equipment. They threaten to start striking if Health Ministry fails to respond.
In a letter to Health Minister Radoslav Gaidarski, the medics call for a meeting during which the demands are discussed.
Employees of the emergency centres in Yambol and Varna said that they support the Pirogov medics.
Bulgarian labour union representatives said that international labour unions would be informed of the working conditions in Pirogov.
