Only in a month 30 doctors left Bulgaria and decided to look for job abroad, head of the Bulgarian Medical Union (BMU) Andrei Kehaiov said.
The number of medical workers in Bulgaria constantly decreases, Novinar newspaper reported.
Kehaiov said that in the past 16 years Bulgaria lost 21 per cent of its medics. In case the tendency continues evolving, Bulgaria will face healthcare crisis after 10 years since the currently working medics will already be pensioners.
Nearly 60 per cent of all Bulgarians see corruption as the main problem within the country’s healthcare system.
Quality of medical service and the extremely high prices of medicaments feature as the second and third biggest problems, according to people polled.
