German sport magazine Sportbild said the match between Hamburger SV and Bulgarian Litex would be a character test for the german team.

After the 2-2 match against Wolfsburg in the last round of the Bundesliga, trainer Huub Stevens said his team had made "catastrophic mistakes."

Stevens now hopes this would not be repeated against Litex, Focus news agency said.

Sportbild said the match against Litex on October 4 would show if Hamburger SV had overcome its weaknesses. The team's motivation should be at a peak, Sportbild said, taking into consideration that the classification for the next round in the EUFA cup was at stake.

International midfielder csaid "best would be to go full speed ahead from the beginning. That way we won't have to strain at the end of the match."
