Legendary heavy metal band Manowar would return to Bulgaria for the Kaliakra Rock Fest on July 5 2008, Kavarna mayor Tsonko Tsonev said.

The fest would be held between July 4 and 6 and the organisers promised to attract other interesting headliners, Focus news agency said.

According to Tsonev, another world famous rock band was expected to come to Bulgaria, but the information would be confirmed by the end of January 2008.

He refused to name the band. If the band would agree, it would stage a major concert in Sofia, Tsonev said.

Tsonev promised heavy metal fans concerts of many favourite bands, some of which would come to Bulgaria for the first time.

Manowar’s first concert in Bulgaria was held on June 30 2007 as part of the same festival. The musicians performed for three hours and sang Bulgaria’s national anthem in Bulgarian.

British trash metal band Onslaught and Swedish Carnal Forge would stage a concert in Bulgaria on April 1 2008 in Zala Hristo Botev (Hristo Botev Hall) in Sofia, avtora.com reported.
