UK Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson intends to make an offer of 22 million pounds for Tottenham’s striker Dimitar Berbatov on August 29 2007.
United will meet with strong resistance from Tottenham, Manchester Evening News said.
If Ferguson’s offer is rejected, he would have to wait until the end of the year to make a new offer because the transfer window in the UK closes on August 31.
After Berbatov’s impressive play in the match of Tottenham against United on August 26, a transfer of the striker in United would guarantee Ferguson motion of confidence by the team fans, the newspaper said.
Ferguson insisted on the transfer after his main player Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ended his career, and Wayne Rooney sustained an injured.
