MANCHESTER UNITED’S ALEX FERGUSON TO CHOOSE BETWEEN BULGARIA’S BERBATOV, ANELKA AND HUNTELAAR
09:12 Tue 30 Oct 2007

Manchester United’s manager Alex Ferguson compiled a list of strikers including Tottenham’s striker from Bulgaria Dimitar Berbatov, Bolton’s Nicolas Anelka and Ajax’s Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.

Both, Bolton and Tottenham appointed new managers and “Ferguson is monitoring the movements of Anelka and Berbatov,” The People reported.

“A dismal injury record” of United’s Louis Saha made Ferguson look for striker to replace him.

According to The People, Ferguson had asked the Man United’s owners if money was available in January 2008 and was given a positive response.

Ferguson rated Berbatov highly, but the Bulgarian was “likely to be a key player for new Spurs boss Juande Ramos and the club would demand at least £18million for him,” The People said.
