Valeri Bojinov is recovering fast from the knee ligaments injury he suffered in the match against Manchester United in August 2007.
Bojinov underwent an operation in Rome and is already back at the training ground after a slight delay because of the birth of his son, Manchester City official website said.
City’s coach Sven-Goran Eriksson was delighted to have Bojinov “back on board, but with such a serious injury he won't be rushing Bojinov back.”
Medics told Eriksson that Bojinov was in good shape for a player, who had suffered such a severe injury.
According to the coach, it was difficult to say when Bojinov will be able to start training with the others, or to play.
“I don’t think anyone can say that now, but hopefully around Christmas he might be taking part in training sessions, and then we’ll see when he is match fit,” Eriksson said.
